Program Overview
Physician Security Plus offers services to physician members of HMA hospitals. Examples of these services include referral resources to group purchasing of supplies and services, managed care contracting with insurance companies, credentialing and physician recruitment/startup services.
The objectives of the Physician Security Plus program are as follows:
- Create attractive practice opportunities for quality physicians in the communities that are served by HMA hospitals in order to build outstanding medical staffs.
- Improve the satisfaction and retention of physicians in HMA markets.
- Create practice models that are sustainable in the changing times of healthcare.
Health Management Associates (HMA) owns and operates 56 hospitals in as many distinct markets. Physician Security Plus is a service offered by HMA designed to ensure that physicians providing services to patients in these markets can expect a reasonable level of success, which in turn improves the continuity of physician providers in the community.
